SA rowing Rio2016

Motebong is proud to have been a partner to SArowing on the road to Rio over the last four years!

The South African Olympic rowing team, under the guidance of Roger Barrow, has now made Motebong its venue for High altitude training for a second time in 6 months, their first visit having been in December 2013.

SArowing successfully participated in the Rio2016 Olympics, entering a record number of 5 boats for the games and all of which made it to the final. The team returned with a men’s doubles silver medal.

Roger Barrow quoted that Motebong and Katse dam represent one of the best training facilities for the rowing  team in the world, because of the quiet dam, the altitude, the terrain that allows for other forms of training, the accommodation and meals (well done to Ntate Steve our chef and the rest of the team at Motebong) and the general surrounds. SA rowing has officially selected Motebong as one of it’s official training venues for their Rio 2016 Olympic Games preparations.
